ast week, ADCI was honored with the Leading Edge Award at the 44th Annual World Waterpark Association Trade Show in Las Vegas, NV. This award was for our work on the indoor waterpark at Wilderness At The Smokies!
Leading Edge can be awarded to individuals or parks for creativity in the development of new themes, facilities, programs, services or operational concepts in the water attractions industry; and to suppliers who have developed new concepts, products or services to the benefit of park members, their customers and the water attractions industry. It is voted on by the WWA board of directors.
ADCI Architect Mitch Buschkopf enjoyed working on the unique features of the expansion. These include a scenic occupiable rooftop that is home to not only a rooftop pool with a translucent edge, but cabanas, a first-of-its-kind fire rail, and sweeping views of the Great Smoky Mountains.
There are many features that make this resort a unique experience, but here is what ADCI President/CFO, Jason Sorci, had to say: “The Wilderness at the Smokies Waterpark Resort expansion project added so many unique and exciting features with an additional footprint of only 19,000 square feet — the rooftop deck with bar and glass-edged pool overlooking the mountains, the three-story water coaster, and the Kaleidoscope Kavern Lazy River chief among them. This is easily the most excitement per SF on the market today, all accomplished while the existing waterpark was operational the entire duration of construction. Thanks to the Wilderness and the design/construction team for making the project so special!”
ADCI is honored to have received the Leading Edge Award and are inspired to continue with innovative designs.
