Scott Construction, an asphalt paving company, needed dramatically more office space to accommodate their growing staff. Their existing offices were housed in a cramped, renovated mobile home, which did not allow for expansion. Ownership decided a new office building was the wisest investment in the firm's future.
A modern architectural style was chosen to enliven their brand. Interior finishes in neutral tones reflect the materials used in their business, while the exterior's natural materials reinforce that theme. Playful use of the company's signature red and gold brightens interior spaces and solidifies the brand.
The thoughtfully designed floor plan ensures every office has an exterior view. Wide corridors, spacious private offices and large training room revolve around a central core of workrooms, copy, mail, reception and restroom spaces. Additionally, each office has a large, operable window for natural ventilation. The executive suite features a 12-foot ceiling and nearly full height glass. Solar tubes were utilized in interior spaces, including the conference room, nearly negating the need for daytime lighting. A 1-1/2 story lobby with cathedral ceiling and clearstory windows creates impressive lighting and a welcoming reception to the building.
