Memory Care Centers of America's (MCCA) new Greenville area memory care facility is nestled in the community of Boxwood, which is about 20 minutes from downtown Greenville. While a recently constructed neighborhood, Boxwood has architectural detailing that most modern housing developments lack. Many of the homes are in the craftsman style with rear or alley entry garages, giving the community an "old" charm.
The client wished to be part of Boxwood's aesthetic appeal by building a senior community facility with traditional craftsman-style architecture. Horizontal, vertical and shake siding articulates the facade. Painted heavy-timber trusses highlight the gable ends while a stone veneer archors the building to the ground.
Inside, the Five Forks memory care facility offers a safe, inviting and engaging environment. Designed around a central courtyard, gathering spaces, living room, tea room, private dining room and craft room all provide relaxing views of the beautiful courtyard landscaping, benches and fountains. A communal dining room, salon, spa, activity room and theater round out the amenities residents enjoy.
