The new Holiday Inn Express in the Greater Milwaukee area welcomes guests with comfortable rooms, inviting common spaces, clean design aesthetics and the hotel's signature blue branding. Several challenges during design and construction were successfully met including:
Modifying HIX design standards to meet City window design guidelines that required extensive amounts of glass on the front of the building.
Accommodating City guidelines that prohibited use of EIFS as an exterior finish. ADCI architects worked extensively with IHG franchise representatives to develop exterior finishes and materials acceptable to all stakeholders.
Despite uncertainty of the impact COVID would have on area events, the operator wished to push forward with the targeted completion date to capture business from an upcoming national convention in nearby Milwaukee. Despite construction interruptions caused by the pandemic, the hotel was completed on schedule.
