Bowman Park in downtown Wisconsin Dells is heavily used by both residents and tourists. Creating a park facility more conducive to user needs spurred the project. When the Dells Country Historical Society approached with an offer to partner on the project to gain much needed office and archive storage space, the project gain added momentum.
The building as currently envisioned is a two-story structure with an assembly area, kitchenette, public restrooms and office on the first floor, while the second floor is devoted to storage rooms which the historical society and parks and rec department will utilize.
A large pavilion will host outdoor events and gatherings - both public and private. Including a serving kitchen increases usability and the roomy indoor gathering space promotes year-round use of the facility.
